Princple Duty Title: Recruiter

Duty MOSC: 79R34

Duty Description: Performs recruiting duties in a rural recruiting station; responsible for all administrative and production requirements; conducts contacts and interviews to qualify and process applications for candidates to enlist into the U.S. Army; consistently coordinates activities with parents, educators, and civic leaders of the community as related to recruiting activities and programs; responsible for accountability, development and training of all Soldiers in the Delayed Entry Program.

Duty Description: Using the Basic Recruiting Management System, prospects determines eligibility and processes qualified applicants to enlist in the United States Army and Army Reserves; prepares files and waivers; meets all recruiting objectives; conducts Army interviews and counsels applicants on the Army's advantages and enlistments programs and options; implements and conducts Army and Army Reserve recruiting awareness programs throughout assigned area of responsibility; maintains a network of influences to parents, high schools, colleges and community officials; responsible for $35,000 worth of equipment.

Duty MOSC: 79R44

Duty Description: Commander of a multi-man recruiting station; trains, supervises and organizes the daily activities of four assigned recruiters; develops subordinates in leadership, prospecting, interview techniques, and the development of civilian awareness programs; documents historical and evaluative data; responsible for the station accomplishing all assigned recruiting objectives; has direct leadership responsibility for the training and accountability of all members of the Delayed Entry Program; promotes the Army image 24 hours a day.

Duty Description: Directs and leads an Army recruiting station consisting of five Active Army, Army Reserve and newly enlisted Soldiers; responsible for the professional development of subordinates and accountable for the morale, health, welfare, and discipline of Soldiers; implements and maintains the recruiting station management system; maintains control and accountability of government property valued at $250,000.


79S Career Counselor

Echelon: Battalion

Princple Duty Title: Career Counselor

Duty MOSC: 79S3O

Duty Description: Provides career counseling to over 800 Soldiers and Noncommissioned Officers in a Light Infantry Battalion; conducts retention and reenlistment interviews; advises commanders on criteria for selection of unit level retention NCOs; conducts inspections and training at the unit level; maintains liaison with local personnel and finance offices to facilitate Army retention incentives; advises the Battalion Commander and Sergeant Major on all matters relating to retention activities; responsible for an organizational handrecipt valued at over $50,000.
